Position
HME Manager
Introduction
The principal function of the incumbent is to oversee and manage all aspects of the HME function of B2Gold’s Malian operations. Work closely with key stakeholders and senior management, this position ensures high-quality delivery and performance of mobile mining and support assets, focusing on achieve targets for safety, productivity and cost efficiency.
Location and Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the General Manager and indirectly to the Director, HME (Corporate). This position will be on 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off, fly in-fly out rotation, and is based at the B2Gold Fekola mine in Mali.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe, inclusive work environment for all HME staff (employees and contractors) to support company objectives, procedures and life-saving rules;
- Develop and implement personal development and succession plans for high-performing, high-potential national employees at all levels under the manager’s responsibility;
- Collaborate with corporate resources to develop and implement HME management systems, frameworks, processes, procedures and reporting that align with corporate standards;
- Work with corporate resources to develop detailed equipment and LOM strategies optimising asset productivity and capital expenditure;
- Implement and manage a planning-based approach to HME operations based on quality strategies, long term planning, forecasting and risk management of supply constraints;
- Manage HME operations to achieve safety, performance and cost KPI’s of primary and ancillary assets; and
- Other duties as set out by the Company.

- Proven strong leadership abilities, including demonstrated capability to lead the team and key stakeholders to meet functional objectives. Confident in leading, inspiring, motivating, challenging, influencing, earning trust and commitment from all team members.
- Excellent communication skills; effectively engage all stakeholders and set clear directions and expectations.
- Maintain a professional approach when working with peers and corporate leaders.
- Readily assume responsibility for team performance.
- Willing to challenge conventional asset management methods and leading initiatives for improvement.
- Demonstrated experience working successfully in remote and demanding environments.
- Skilled at developing and implementing maintenance management systems, frameworks, processes, and procedures ensuring the team understand their responsibilities and objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive asset and life-of-mine (LOM) strategies, granular level budgets, functional financial structures, and reporting. Ensure quality data is recorded to ensure data-driven capital investment decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate functional performance and address issues related to safety, production and costs, as well as identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives.
- Engineering degree or minimum trade qualification, supplemented by further credentials in business, project or maintenance management.
