Position

 

Contracts and Procurement Compliance Administrator, Nunavut

 

 

Location and Reporting Structure 


Reporting to the Contracts and Procurement Compliance Administrator, this position will be based in Edmonton, AB.

 

 

Responsibilities 

 

•    Ensure all contracting and procurement activities for the Back River Gold Project comply with the Inuit Impact and Benefit Agreement (IIBA) across all lifecycle stages;
•    Develop tools to evaluate and monitor Inuit content standards, including checklists and compliance frameworks;
•    Assist in creating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Inuit training and employment within contracts;
•    Conduct internal audits of procurement processes to identify IIBA compliance gaps and recommend best practices;
•    Prepare and manage required IIBA-related reporting and documentation;
•    Provide guidance to internal teams on IIBA obligations and how they relate to specific roles and responsibilities; and
•    Liaise with Inuit-owned businesses in Kitikmeot communities (Cambridge Bay, Gjoa Haven, Kugluktuk, Taloyoak, and Kugaaruk) to promote understanding of IIBA obligations and identify contracting opportunities.

 

 

Desired Competencies and Requirements 

 

•    Five (5) years' contract administration experience in the mining, heavy or construction industry with preference for experience with Impact Benefit Agreements or similar;
•    Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, finance, law, or a related field;
•    Strong understanding of contract law, legal terminology, regulatory requirements and purchasing law related to public tenders and RFP’s; and
•    Experience working with Inuit/Indigenous owned businesses is an asset.
