Position
Dispatcher, Nunavut (up to 3months contract)
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Team Lead, Dispatcher this temporary position (up to 3months contract) is a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in MLA Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate and distribute driver assignments, truck/trailer pairings, and convoy schedules; maintain accurate rotation updates, including adjustments for weather or storm-related delays.
• Monitor and log all check-ins, delays, incidents, and return times to ensure precise and timely operational records.
• Prepare, review, and validate cargo and fuel manifests; confirm all required fields and accurately transfer load details to reporting sheets for client submission.
• Serve as a communication hub by relaying critical updates between drivers, scale house, and field supervisors; promptly notify teams of weather changes, route modifications, and respond to breakdowns or reassignment needs.
• Maintain comprehensive driver records, including certifications, availability status, hours worked, activity logs, and key performance indicators to support compliance and operational efficiency.
• Provide administrative support through accurate reporting, scheduling, and data entry to ensure smooth and uninterrupted dispatch operations.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
• One (1) year experience in dispatch, logistics, or administrative coordination required; experience in heavy civil projects or remote site operations is considered an asset;
• Excellent communication skills are required both verbally and in written form in English. Clarity, etiquette and precision of communication in radio communication is essential;
• Ability to work within a high-pressure and rapidly changing environment; and
• Proficient in Excel for accurate reporting and data analysis to enhance operational efficiency.
Compensation and Benefits
For informational purposes, the regular hourly rate is $31.50 and overtime rate is $47.25
