Position

 

Information Technology Specialist, Nunavut

 

 

Location and Reporting Structure 


Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

 

 

Responsibilities 

 

•    Set up, configure and maintain computers and other end user Information Technology equipment.
•    Configure and operate firewalls, switches, access points and similar data network equipment
•    Configure and maintain server infrastructure, data storage solutions and user directory systems.
•    Develop robust network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls, to protect company assets and information.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement IT projects that align with company goals and industry standards.
•    Maintain IT equipment inventory, documentation and technical diagrams.
•    Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

 

 

Desired Competencies and Requirements 

 

•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
•    Experience working on a remote site with limited access to resources.
•    Minimum of five (5) years' experience in Information Technology, with a focus on the mining industry.
•    Proven experience with routing, switching and wireless technologies.
•    Proven experience with Windows Server systems, virtualization and enterprise IT infrastructure.
•    Experience with end user support and associated endpoint management technologies.
•    Willingness to work on a rotational basis at a remote site adapting to challenging environments and fluctuating work schedules.
•    Certification in relevant technologies, such as CISSP, CCNA or CCNP, is considered an asset.

 

 

Compensation and Benefits


For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $126,776.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $46.00 and overtime rate of $69.00) in a work year.
