Position

 

Inventory Coordinator, Nunavut

 

 

Location and Reporting Structure 


Reporting to the Superintendent, Underground Development, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

 

 

Responsibilities 

 

•    Coordinate the safe receipt, transportation, staging, distribution, and storage of materials, supplies, tools, and equipment from Supply Chain to support underground mining and maintenance activities.
•    Maintain underground laydown yards, storage locations, and staging areas in a clean, organized, and hazard-free condition, ensuring efficient material access, retrieval, and utilization.
•    Safely operate forklifts, telehandlers, utility vehicles, and other approved material-handling equipment while complying with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
•    Support inventory control and broader Supply Chain operations by conducting cycle counts, monitoring inventory levels, tracking material movements, replenishing stock, maintaining accurate system and physical inventory records, and assisting with audits and inventory reporting.
•    Adhere to established procurement, receiving, warehousing, inventory management, and material distribution processes to ensure the timely availability, traceability, and stewardship of materials required to support safe and efficient underground mining operations.
•    Perform inspections of materials, storage areas, and equipment; identify and report hazards, damage, defects, or shortages; and assist with loading, unloading, labeling, securing, and protecting materials from damage.

 

 

Desired Competencies and Requirements 

 

•    Three (3) years of experience in material handling, warehousing, logistics, underground mining support, or general labour roles within mining, heavy industrial, construction, or remote camp environments; underground mining experience is considered an asset.
•    Completion of a High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required.
•    Valid Forklift Operator Certification, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certifications.
•    Previous experience using SAP, ERP, or similar inventory management system and Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel, with a comprehensive understanding of inventory management and laydown/storage processes.
•    Physically capable of handling materials in demanding underground Arctic conditions and ability to live and carry heavy objects (up to 85 pounds).

 

 

Compensation and Benefits


For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $93,015.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $33.75 and overtime rate of $50.63) in a work year.
