Position

 

Material Handler, Nunavut

 

 

Location and Reporting Structure 


Reporting to the Supervisor, Warehouse, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

 

 

Responsibilities 

 

•    Safely and efficiently operate loading/unloading and ground support equipment in all weather conditions; perform daily peruse inspections and maintain equipment in clean, serviceable condition.
•    Load/unload trucks, destuff containers, verify cargo against packing lists, and relocate materials to designated laydown areas or warehouse bins using proper slinging, rigging, and securing methods.
•    Facilitate timely material delivery across site using forklifts, telehandlers, or trucks; maintain organized, obstruction-free laydown and warehouse areas, including snow removal and access clearing.
•    Receive, stage, label, and put away goods into correct bin locations; assist with cycle counts and general housekeeping, including cleaning and waste removal.
•    Adhere to Company Health and Safety standards, company policies, and departmental procedures; follow all safety protocols and immediately report incidents, damages, or violations.
•    Perform other warehouse-related tasks as required to support safe, efficient, and continuous operations.

 

 

Desired Competencies and Requirements 

 

•    Three (3) years’ experience in warehouse environment (mining or related industry preferred).
•    High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in logistics or related field preferred.
•    Valid Drivers license and either a Forklift or Telehandler certification required.
•    Previous experience using SAP, ERP, Microsoft Suite particularly excel with a comprehensive understanding of inventory management and warehouse processes required.
•    Physically capable of handling materials in demanding Arctic conditions. Able to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 85 pounds).

 

 

Compensation and Benefits


For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $93,015.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $33.75 and overtime rate of $50.63) in a work year.
