Position
Mill Planner, Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Supervisor, Mill Maintenance, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
• Plan and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability while supporting operational goals.
• Manage and optimize maintenance activities using SAP and other platforms, applying reliability-centered maintenance principles to meet KPIs and cost targets.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to review and plan maintenance work requests, while maintaining accurate technical documentation and developing detailed job plans and work instructions.
• Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels of spare parts, materials, and consumables.
• Lead plant shutdown planning and execution, responding effectively to unplanned outages with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
• Track and report maintenance metrics, costs, and trends; lead meetings and recommend continuous improvement opportunities based on data insights.
• Oversee and support the operation and trouble shotting of the mill systems, site power generation, boilers, and associated equipment to ensure reliable and efficient performance.
• Uphold and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies to ensure all maintenance activities align with regulatory and site-specific standards.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
• Five (5) years’ experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance planning, preferably in gold or mineral processing plants, with additional experience in mill and power plant operations and maintenance considered a strong asset.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Project Management, or equivalent extensive industry experience.
• Proficiency in SAP CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite - other CMMS experience will be considered.
Compensation and Benefits
For informational purposes, the annual salary for this role is $150,750.00.
