Position

Mobile Crane Operator, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure 

Reporting to the Supervisor, Cranes, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities 

• Operate mobile cranes to safely lift, move, and position materials in accordance with site procedures and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively using radios, hand signals, and other systems to coordinate crane operations with ground personnel.
• Conduct pre- and post-operational inspections, including load calculations and rigging assessments, to ensure safe crane functionality.
• Support routine maintenance by cleaning, lubricating, and reporting equipment issues or deficiencies to the supervisor.
• Maintain rigging supplies and ensure the crane work area remains clean, organized, and hazard-free.
• Participate in safety meetings and comply with all site-specific safety policies; operate other machinery as required.
• Support for equipment operations across various departments will be required as part of this role.

Desired Competencies and Requirements 

• Five (5) years' crane operation experience in Civil works, construction, open pit or mining related industry required.
• Valid High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Crane Operator Certification required.
• National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) certificate would be considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $148,135.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $53.75 and overtime rate of $80.63) in a work year.
