Supervisor, Crusher, Nunavut

 

 

Location and Reporting Structure 


Reporting to the Superintendent, Civil Works, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

 

 

Responsibilities 

 

•    Lead and oversee all crushing and aggregate production activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations that achieve production targets while supporting mining, construction, road maintenance, and other Civil Works projects in compliance with company policies, site procedures, and regulatory requirements.
•    Plan, coordinate, and optimize crushing operations by developing daily, weekly, and long-term production schedules; managing crusher feed, stockpiles, haulage, material handling activities, and resource allocation to maintain continuous production and maximize operational performance.
•    Provide strong frontline leadership to crusher crews and support personnel through work assignment, coaching, mentoring, training, performance management, and succession development while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, and continuous improvement.
•    Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics including production rates, equipment utilization, material quality, downtime, labour productivity, and operating costs; identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions to enhance reliability, efficiency, and overall crusher performance.
•    Collaborate closely with Maintenance personnel to maximize equipment availability, coordinating inspections, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance programs, repair scheduling, and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure the reliable operation of crushers, conveyors, screens, and associated mobile equipment.
•    Champion safety, environmental stewardship, and operational compliance by conducting workplace inspections, hazard assessments, safety meetings, incident investigations, and maintaining operational documentation, production reports, and regulatory records while ensuring work areas, access roads, stockpiles, and crushing facilities remain safe, organized, and efficient.

 

 

Desired Competencies and Requirements 

 

•    Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in crushing, aggregate production, mining, civil construction, or heavy industrial operations, including a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory or leadership role.
•    Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification or Nunavut Certificate of Qualifications (CoQ)
•    Nunavut Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) Supervisory Level II qualification or ability to obtain the same.
•    Experience using SAP or other maintenance, production, and reporting software systems is considered an asset.

 

 

Compensation and Benefits


For informational purposes, the annual salary for this role is $157,500.00
