Position
Supervisor, Warehouse, Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Superintendent, Supply Chain, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
• Assist Supply Chain Superintendent in developing and implementing warehouse policies, practices, and procedures;
• Oversee arrangement of all materials in the warehouses and laydown areas efficiently;
• Plan, organize, and ensure adequate storage conditions for materials and supplies;
• Enforce hazardous materials management procedures and policies;
• Organize the safe and efficient unloading/loading of all materials;
• Provide technical assistance to staff, inspect and evaluate work, and direct remedial actions;
• Operate and train staff on forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other light equipment;
• Monitor the materials receiving process and ensure proper documentation and quality control;
• Resolve discrepancies with procurement and accounting, and report damages or shortages;
• Control access to the warehouse, assist end users in locating materials, and ensure the operability of equipment;
• Schedule inspections, maintain clean and organized premises, and participate in stocktaking and cycle counts;
• Utilize and train staff on the ERP system, prepare reports, and proactively implement warehouse improvements; and
• Define and develop measurable KPI targets for the warehouse. Review performance of staff, provide feedback and assist each staff member in compiling a Personal Development Plan.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
• Five (5) years of relevant warehouse experience with two (2) years of previous supervisory experience, preference will be given to those with experience working in a remote site with limited access to resources;
• Post-secondary education in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Management;
• Proficient in using SAP, ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite;
• A Nunavut WSCC Supervisory Level II qualifications, or ability to obtain same; and
• Valid Driver’s license required, and Forklift Certificate preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this role is $145,250.00
