Position
Team Lead, Site Services - MLA, Nunavut
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Supervisor, Site Services (MLA), this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Responsibilities
• Lead day-to-day site and camp activities by assigning tasks, overseeing work quality, and ensuring efficient team performance;
• Develop and maintain work schedules for maintenance and operations teams to ensure timely completion of tasks;
• Supervise aviation logistics, including ground handling, cargo load planning, and aircraft loading/unloading (Dash 7 and ATR);
• Oversee the upkeep and repair of camp infrastructure, including utility systems, water systems, and operational facilities;
• Coordinate shipping, receiving, rigging, and material handling to ensure timely movement and tracking of supplies and equipment;
• Conduct daily safety and toolbox meetings to support cross-functional planning and uphold a strong safety culture;
• Provide leadership and direction to contractors, camp personnel, and logistics staff working on-site;
• Operate and maintain the desalination plant (with training), and support camp operations using heavy equipment like loaders, skid steers, and forklifts;
• Provide operational support for winter ice road and sea lift activities, including monitoring water and fuel levels for seasonal readiness; and
• Promote health and safety by conducting inspections, co-chairing the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee, and driving compliance with HSE regulations.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
• Four (4) years of experience in camp operations, logistics, or facilities maintenance in Arctic conditions with limited access to resources with a minimum of one (1) year experience as a Lead Hand;
• Trade Certification as a heavy equipment operator or significant vocational experience using heavy equipment (loader, skid steer, forklift) is required;
• Experience with fixed-wing and helicopter aviation logistics; Dash 7 and ATR knowledge preferred; Technical understanding of desalination systems and camp utility services;
Compensation and Benefits
For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $121,264.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $44.00 and overtime rate of $66) in a work year.
