B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Canada, Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries.
Position
Human Resources Generalist (Fixed-Term, 15 months)
Introduction
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, Corporate, this position will be responsible for delivering and continuously improving HR programs and processes that enhance the overall employee experience across the corporate office. The role provides full-cycle HR support across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding, while ensuring data integrity, process efficiency, and compliance within HR systems including our HRIS - SAP SuccessFactors. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with sound HR judgement, strong attention to detail and execution capabilities, and highly effective managing competing priorities independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Location
This is a full-time position based at B2Gold’s Corporate Office in Vancouver, Canada. The role follows our hybrid work model of four days in-office and one day remote each week.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:
- With oversight of the HR Manager, lead full-cycle recruitment for corporate roles, including job postings, candidate sourcing and screening, interview coordination and participation, reference checks, and offer preparation while ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained;
- Partner with hiring managers to understand business needs, facilitate the recruitment process, and provide applicable guidance on recruitment strategies and market insights;
- Prepare compensation recommendations for recruitment and other purposes when required (i.e. internal movements), including internal equity & external benchmarking;
Employee Lifecycle Management:
- Manage complete onboarding and off-boarding processes to ensure seamless employee experience;
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee information in SAP Success Factors and other HR systems;
- Prepare employment-related documentation, including letters, changes, and confirmations;
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Coordination:
- Administer employee benefits including enrolment, updates, changes, employee support, and accurate and timely invoice review and coordination;
- Liaise and work closely with the Payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee and compensation changes, time-off adjustments, and other related changes;
- Facilitate and lead weekly HR–Payroll meetings, presenting key updates on employee changes to ensure alignment;
- Support the annual salary review and bonus process, including data validation, system updates, benefits eligibility, and preparation of compensation letters;
HR Operations & Systems:
- Maintain and enhance HR processes, templates, policies, org charts, documentation and files;
- Manage HRIS data integrity and support system improvements;
- Oversee the administration of employee time-off, leave balances, and HR policy assignments in ADP Workforce Now;
Employee Relations & Support:
- Act as a first point of contact for employee and manager enquiries, providing guidance on HR policies and practices and escalating as appropriate;
- Support disability management and leave-related process as required;
- Maintain highest level of confidentiality when handling sensitive matters
Programs, Projects, Communication & Continuous Improvement:
- Support and lead HR initiatives and projects to improve employee experience and operational efficiency;
- Contribute to employee wellness and engagement initiatives including event planning and coordination;
- Support the integration of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles into HR programs and practices; in particular, promoting various EDI initiatives to promote an inclusive workplace, supporting ongoing learning initiatives to enhance EDI awareness, and providing reports for progress and areas of improvements;
- Assist with managing relocation and mobility programs including coordinating with external legal counsel, tracking status, and managing application process etc.;
- Manage and maintain HR content and pages on the Company’s Intranet and support internal communications;
- Contribute to and compile regular and ad-hoc reports and analytics to support HR projects and/or decision making;
- Work seamlessly and collaboratively with HR and payroll teams;
- Provide back-up to HR team members, as required; and
- Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce or similar from a reputable Canadian post-secondary program;
- Minimum of five years of related progressive human resources experience (if diploma, then seven years of relevant work experience);
- CPHR designation or working towards one;
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and BC employment legislation and HR best practices;
- Experience supporting immigration or mobility programs;
- Demonstrated experience managing HR projects or initiatives;
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate professionally with both internal and external stakeholders;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with customer service focused;
- Sound judgment and problem-solving capability, knows when to ask for support;
- Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines;
- Proactive and motivated to learn with a passion for delivering high quality service;
- Able to work independently under minimum supervision; and
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, strong work ethic, with a team-player mindset are imperative attributes.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors (Employee Central and/or Recruiting modules)
- Exposure to time-off balances, leave management, and HR policy assignments in ADP Workforce Now or similar system;
- Prior experience in mining industry;
- French or Spanish language skills;
- RCIC designation or credential education considered an asset.
Job Demands/Physical Requirements:
- This position will be based at B2Gold’s corporate office in Vancouver, Canada, with a hybrid work arrangement (4 days on site + 1 day working from home);
- Able to lift boxes at least 30lbs.

B2Gold offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary commensurate with the candidate’s experience, knowledge and skill set, and a comprehensive benefit package for employees and their eligible dependents. The base salary range for this position is CAD $80,000 – 97,500 per annum, which is the anticipated pay at the time of hire but does not reflect similar future job opportunities. Details of the total compensation package will be shared during the interview process.
