Position

Senior Business Analyst – Finance

 

Introduction

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Systems, the Senior Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting, optimizing, and enhancing the Company’s financial systems. This role partners closely with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure systems are stable, compliant, and aligned with the Company's long-term business objectives.

 

Location

This is a full-time position based at B2Gold’s Corporate Office in Vancouver, Canada with a hybrid work arrangement (4 days on site + 1 day working from home).

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 1 support to financial system end-users by managing tickets and incidents, and coordinating with third-party solution providers to ensure timely resolution and minimize business disruption;
  • Define and document functional requirements to align business processes with system design, to ensure compliance and support operational efficiency;
  • Assess and optimize existing business processes, identifying opportunities for automation, standardization, and continuous improvement to enhance accuracy and reduce reporting time;
  • Lead system enhancements and change initiatives, including requirements definition, user acceptance testing (UAT), training strategy, documentation, and change management;
  • Oversee and facilitate the controlled deployment of system upgrades, patches, and new releases, ensuring business continuity and risk mitigationManage security/user access in applicable systems;
  • Support IT general control activities and SOX compliance, including audit readiness, documentation, and audit support to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal control standards;
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to communicate priorities, project status, risks, gather requirements, and drive alignment and consensus; and,
  • Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives.

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems, or a related field;
  • Minimum five years of experience in financial systems, business analysis or a related role;
  • Previous experience supporting and enhancing financial systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, OneStream, Sage, X3 or SAP considered an asset), including configuration, troubleshooting, and process improvement;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, SharePoint and PowerPoint;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complex system landscapes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and able to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; and,
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

 

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • CPA or professional accounting designation is a strong asset; and,
  • Experience working in an operational accounting role, preferably with a public company.

B2Gold offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary commensurate with the candidate’s experience, knowledge and skill set, and a comprehensive benefit package for employees and their eligible dependents. The base salary range for this position is CAD $115,000 – $130,000 per annum, which is the anticipated pay at the time of hire but does not reflect similar future job opportunities. Details of the total compensation package will be shared during the interview process.
